QUALITY CONTROL
BauTech®, Inc., distributor of the BauGrid®
Reinforcement System, has
just revamped its entire quality assurance program, under the
direction of the ICBO and ICBO certified testing laboratories, the ASTM, and
with input from the ACI and recognized leaders in both academic and manufacturing
research and automation fields. After consulting with the above,
it has also developed its own proprietary testing system. This
page will soon be updated to further reflect the changes which
are now being implemented. Please check back soon. While the
following information is not representative of the latest quality
control implementation, it is representative of BauTech®'s
commitment to ensuring that our product exceeds the standards
currently in place.
BauTech®
Inc. makes every effort to assure its clients of the
finest quality products. To that end, we have developed
testing procedures which exceed the guidelines
recommended by the ASTM and the ACI for Welded Wire
Fabric (WWF).
|
As our
grids are individual grids, and not sheets or rolls of
mesh, and as our wire is much heavier, and due to the
increased (over WWF) structural loads we are expecting
our grids to withstand, we did not feel that the above
agency guidelines for WWF were stringent enough.
|
As the
grids leave the production line, a percentage of all grids
are tested to ensure that they meet minimum requirements;
per ASTM A497 90b for deformed wire and ASTM A185 for
plain wire. Additionally, the BauGrid "Corner
Burst-out Test" has been developed. The burst-out
test ensures that the wire weld at the corners will not
break until after the wire (which meets or exceeds ACI
and ASTM standards) breaks. The intermediate joint test
tests the strength of the weld at the exterior,
non-corner joints.
